About The M.P. Education Society

The Madhya Pradesh Education society was established on 1st July 1953, In those days Nagpur was the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Late Shri. Babasaheb alias Yeshwant V. Nahatkar. The brain behind forming the society was to give education to the children whose background was uneducated and from poor family. Few student in the hand he started the school after getting the permission from the eastwhile Madhya Pradesh government.

As a founder member his elder brother Late. Shri Vinayak V Nahaktar gave him support for his endeavor. They both were the founder members of the society. The school had a Marathi medium. The student were of nearby areas such as Mahal, Pachpowli , Timki, Itwari, Gandhibagh, Reshimbagh etc.The School was running at Rukmani Mandir Palace. The age old mandir of Bhoslas. The space was provided by Raje Jaisinghrao Maharaj to Babasaheb to run the school.

In 1964 Raje Jaisinghrao Bhosle sold Raja Kothi to Babasaheb for running the school. This ‘Kothi’ used to the Treasure Vault for the Bhosla. Now it is knowledge vault. It is a 250 years building constructed in 1760 where Bhosle use to keep their gold, silver and diamond ornaments as well as the other valuable ornament. During British regime, British tried to damage the building to enter the Mahal but the building was not destroyed and it is still entact but scars of bomb is left.
